So I know they don't have a "choke" as such, and I believe the "wax" stat operation is effectively the "choke". My car starts and runs great when cold - IE additional revs to keep it going, and when fully hot runs fine, revs drop to 750/800 rpm. BUT - in the middle bit, not quite fully hot, not fully cold, it has a tendency to stall as the revs are too low.
Is the adjustment in the "wax stat" area? If so how?

First, use the split linkage test to determine if it is running rich or lean during the difficult period.
