Title: California Emissions decal

I’ve never read any mention of the decal I have on the drivers side hardtop quarter window of my car.  Actually there are two identical ones on the same window!  I’m assuming all US cars were held to the same standard but perhaps CA mandated the values be displayed.  I’ve never seen a reproduction of this decal either.  Clearly it’s a factory decal.  Anyone else seen this?  Was it only for models sold in 1971?

23 grams per mile.
Not 7/8 of an ounce per mile, or 16 grams per km.  (or similar ) but a fabulous mix of metric and imperial.

Well, if you have one of those tailpipe gas analyzers, now you know what values to target.
