Need is a strong word, but I am very few parts short of completion, and that is one of them. Or at least one that I know about.
A000 720 01 00. It's the solenoid that lives on the intake manifold.
Can anyone help? Shipping will be USPS to 09012.
Thanks,
Dru

Why the red engine block?
-
Sort of like Porsche with their different colored engine shrouds. This one is first oversize bore and a flattened head, so I'm sure it has more displacement and compression than your standard 130.980.
Not really. My neighbor, who painted it before I got it, liked the color. I kinda do too.
Below are some pictures of the needed part. Has anyone repaired one?

K-Jet, as for availability: it used to be available at Mercedes, I bought it there 2 years ago. Now you can buy those Mercedes solenoids in the internet stores for higher prices. Such is life. I assume you know what is available in internet stores and on ebay (at least 2-3 offers on ebay). If not, let me know, I will share.
As for repair - yes. There are several threads on the Forum, you just need to use the Search function. Type in what you want to search for e.g. in parenthesis "Constant Speed Solenoid" - you will get about 150-200 hits to look through by topic. If you type in just CSS, 17 hits.
When you look through it, you find threads like this: https://www.sl113.org/forums/index.php?topic=27065.msg193973#msg193973
I do not mean to be preaching, I found out for myself that reaching some fluency level in working with search function just made my life easier.

I totally agree!!

I agree also. My question was more out of curiosity than an actual interest in trying to find my way into the little can.
On the other hand, a community that lives on the search function, rather than regular interaction, will die out once all the questions have been answered. There are potential harms either way.
-
I agree with you Dru! Nothing like direct interaction. The search function works fine when you don't have time to wait for an answer or you have a lot of time to sort through the vast amount of information generated from a search.

I'm glad you think so, because I have a lot of problems. Some of them have to do with old Mercedes....
