Title: Shifting Rod
Post by: cajlouni on July 15, 2023, 05:07:18
Hi
My shifter for my 71 280 SL has become extremely loose and at times very difficult to put in gear. I was told that the rubber washers underneath needed to be replaced. Can anyone appointment in the right direction or give me the proper name on what I need to order?

Hello, if you search "shifter bushes", or "shifter linkage", using the general search above left, you'll find lots of advice, including this post:

Also a description on here in the technical manual:

It's best to replace all the plastic bushings while your at it, since they all degrade with time and use.
