Thanks for advise.

Hello Frederic,

I see nobody has replied here. I suggest you reach out personally to the members in Australia and New Zealand to see who or where they have used. Another alternative is to reach out to the Mercedes Benz clubs in these areas, speak to some of the officers and see what they say...

You may just have to bite the bullet and send it to the USA or Germany or UK.

Hi Frederic, I am based in Australia, but couldnt find anyone that does the total overhaul, adjustment to factory flow settings, etc, so I ended up sending my pump to Pacific Fuel injection (USA)

Surely there is someone in Australia that can do this? Asking for a friend who may need his injection pump done one day…….

Any other Aussie members care to share their go to mechanics?

Hi Dave
Some insight from me, when I contacted various places here in Australia, there were many that could do the work to fit new seals, etc but no one had the Bosch flow benches etc to do the proper calibrations and testing. So make sure you ask any prospective workshop whether they have the right gear to do all the procedures involved to ensure proper calibration & running of your pump.

This is why I ended up sending mine overseas.

Regards

Being in New Caledonia, Frederic may indeed be better off sending the pump to the US.
I don't know for sure whether Diesel Australia can do the job, or would want to. But having been around awhile they might know someone.
There was a guy here in Perth at United Fuel Injection but I think he retired long ago.

For me there is only one address Dr. Hans Fritzsche in Wolfschlugen Germany.
Definitely has to be sent by parcel, then it wouldn't matter to which continent.

I also can recommend Hans fritzsche in Germany . He did the pump on my 250sl . Probably is not the cheapest but you will have all the data sheets with costs and flow charts and a pump like new . Probably the down side is that if you send your pump outside Australia or new zeland you have to pay  higher customs fees .

Thank you very much gentlemen for the discussion and the contacts.
I do believe too that it's very important to have the correct instruments to mesure pressions and flows back to standards without approximations to do a good job on this essential part of our engines.
I saw a french television show about a Pagoda restoration and the injection pomp was checked and tuned by specialists in France "dans les règles de l'art" (sorry for French dear moderateur ;) So I think I'm gonna send it to France with big total bill. When you love you don't count do you ?
I'm desappointed nobody in New Zealand as they love classic cars too.
Yours sincerely.

Around 3 weeks ago I took my pump from my 6.3 to fairchilds fuel injection in Shingletown. 3 hours drive from here. Really nice guy with a stellar reputation. He had a few pumps from Ausetralia there. He's also checking the injectors and cold start valves.

One excellent US option is:
Gus Pfister
Pacific Fuel Injection Services
153 Utah Ave, South San Francisco, CA 94080
+16505888880

He completely overhauled my injection pump. He has all the Bosch equipment and does absolutely excellent work.
You have to reach him on the Phone. Old School German. Better hurry - he was supposed to retire a few years ago. I (and the 60's Porsche community as well) am very worried about him doing so.
