Title: Door handles

Hi …question..are all door handles the same? Can left and right be swapped if cylinder is turned correctly? And,crucially,are they all the same size? I have an SL230 and attempting to change the handle but,the new handle is not quite fitting..it seems a fraction out length wise..

Another question is, were the handles the same through the production run?  I know key types changed, but I don't know if the actual door handles changed.  You might be trying to put a 280SL handle on your 230SL (not a SL230).  Also, if you've got new rubber pads/seals between the door and the handle, that might make it a tighter fit than before.

A quick Search brought up many threads, and in the first few was this message.  Left and right are the same.  Search is great!!
