Title: Got my 230SL back!!

It was a long wait, but well worth it. I had the engine rebuilt by Metric Motors and then a complete mechanical renovation by Pierre Hedary. I doubt that there is anyone on the planet that has more vintage MB knowledge than Pierre. I highly recommend Metric Motors and Pierre Hedary. They are the best.

That's a wonderful shade of red.  Your car looks great!  Yes, Pierre has quite a lot of info stuffed in his head.  May I ask, how long was it in his shop?

I just had Metric Motor rebuild a 190SL motor for me. I was very impressed with the quality of their work and the level of service. Turn around time was fast, about 2 months including round trip freight from OH to CA.

Thanks to all. The red is 519G "Light Red". Ironically, it's a bit darker than Signal Red. It's had one re-spray, but there was still a lot of original paint to be found, which helped the previous owner match the paint. Spare wheel color matches perfectly. Pierre had the car for 12 months. Metric motors did an entire rebuild for about $12K, over two years ago. Not cheap. It's a great little 230SL 4-speed. Glad to have her back!
