Title: WTB: Carpeting Remnant - "Wheat"

Hi,

We're looking for either a complete trans tunnel section or a remnant of "wheat" colored carpeting for a 1970 280 SL with a manual transmission. Unfortunately, an ordering mistake resulted in receipt of the correct color but for an automatic transmission. The usual suppliers tell us this is no longer available by the yard. We can sew in a remnant if we need to as long as it's clean/cleanable.

Matching color and material quality might be a long shot.  Can't you just order the correctly cut & trimmed piece from the same supplier?

"Wheat"
- Is that what your carpet supplier called it?  If so, you might need to say who that is so a fellow member can provide the right material.
- Is that what M-B called it?  That (and the color code off the data card) would make it easier to get the right material from someone here.

I hope it works out for you.  Have a pic of your new carpet material?

I would have to agree with Rodd that your request is definitely a long shot. As per GAHH, there is only one German manufacturer of multi loop carpeting and their color choices are not consistent from one production run to the next. 

Good luck in your search but you might want to have a backup plan.

Alternatively there is Caberio.de who have a great range of both types of Pagoda carpet that they will send samples to you..
