Unfortunately when I bought my 1965 230 SL, the door panels were already removed from the doors.
Now I try to assemble the doors again, so also the door panel.
See my pictures for the items I have.
Of course I found this very useful description:

However I can't find how to mount the door panel.
Does anybody have tips of pictures for that?
Thank you in advance.

I can't really tell what's going on with your door panel but there should be a metal strip at the top.

I have this metal strip, it's on the highest picture lying on the door panel top.
But how must it be connected to the door panel?

Do these help?

I still don't see how the upper aluminum molding is mounted op top of the door.
Is it put together with the top of the door panel inside the clamps?

I’ve had my door trims recovered and I have not fit them yet.
I’ll take some photos for you, showing how it it held on by clips tomorrow.

There appears to be too much padding and the material shouldn't wrap all the way over that metal piece. The chrome trim clips to the metal piece and then it fits into the clips on the door.
-
OK thank you. So it seems I have to remove a part of the padding and then put the smal part of the door trims on top of the end of the padding.
Thanks a lot! :)

Looks like Lori beat me to it.
But yes, there are clips that hold it on the top edge and your trim appears to have too much material on it.

Hey evw :)
By the thickness of it - it looks like the foam might have continued over the top metal strip, my old one appears to be just one layer of vinyl going over the metal strip...

This was exactly the case. Now it's changed and it fits like a glove. :P
Thank you very much!
