Please let me know what color the taillight knobs should be --black or white
Right now I have both colors
Regards
Steven
P.S my 113 is from 71

Mine are all white. I assume you are referring to the ones inside the trunk.
-
mine too.
Far as I know is the original (for a 280SL) white.
-
my 1970 280SL had mostly black. and maybe 1 white, I painted the white one black to match the others. but maybe its all wrong?
-
Seems to be a difference of opinion

Mine are original and all white, might be missing one or two….

Mine are black, '69 production year.
-
All white -- May '66 build.

I purchased left and right 280 NOS (New Old Stock) tail light assemblies from the Classic Center around 2010 when they were still available. White knobs.

My original factory delivered knobs are white. 280SL January, 1969, build. Chassis 007749.
-
Went to check - black knobs and both sides for the 280 SL, September 1969 build date.
The 250 SL, has white knobs, but it is a complete rebuild done back in 2000.

I have a correction to make. I just checked again my 1970 280SL and all the knobs are white / ivory color

All of the W113's that I have owned had white, or Ivory colored threaded "knobs". All of the R107's that I have owned had black. Black became the MB "replacement" part when the 107's started in 1971. I'm sure that there may have been a mix of colors towards the end of the W113 production, but Ivory is correct for all W113's.
