Hi

Recently bought a white 230SL. Was originally a German car from new. At some time was imported to USA and had a Californian title. I have no history before 1984. Was then  registered in Colorado and then Arizona. Is now in London,UK with me.

VIN no was 230SL006161. Is a 1964 car but was registered as a 1966 in the USA. Despite being a German car it had USA headlights and bumper overriders.

Long shot I know but has anyone any information about this car?

That is quite an adventure/travel log for your car.  I have a '65 German market 230SL with vin 106612.  I look forward to hearing some input from members

Hi

No issue with VIN. California cars I gather had VIN in format MODEL then serial no. so 230SL006161 for title document. Actual stamped VIN on frame and VIN plate is correct 113 format.

Oh,  When you wrote "Is a 1964 car but was registered as a 1966 in the USA" I figured you were trying to get history to somehow correct registration.  You are just looking for any general history?  Ownership history?  Maintenance or repair history?  That is a long shot, but worth a try.  Is your car 113042-1x-006161?
