A few days ago I squeezed another Mercedes-Benz into my garage. This one, a 108 will be great company for the 113 and 107. A 1972 model built in 9/71, it spent its first 30 years in California and was then brought to Alabama by its second owner who enjoyed it for 20 years. I purchased the 280SEL 4.5 from the spouse of the now deceased second owner.
I am looking forward to enjoying it this spring as I sort out a few minor gremlins that have crept in over the years.
A few pictures are attached.

Those are nice cars. I had a '72 300 SEL 4.5 many years ago. Beauty, dripping with luxury inside. 280 is not quite as trimmed. Tip, has a transistorized ignition to reduce the current going through the points. Slightest bit of dirt would cause the engine to get ornery. Kept a matchbook in the car. When it acted up, pop the distributor cap, run the matchbook cover between the points and you're good to go!

Gentlemen, thank you for the kind complements. John, match books are hard to find these days but I am searching for one for the glove box!
Did anyone else receive a pair of bumper mounted deer whistles with their car?
