Title: Hood bracket plate
Post by: getsmart on October 25, 2022, 05:58:55
Hello all,

Does anyone have a picture and/or part number for the plate that goes in behind the front inside engine bay to attach the right hood bracket to? Right near the air filter cannister?

I have no idea what it looks like and when I fabricated a wooden one for trial fit I can't actually slide it in properly from behind due to the curve of the wall....

See photos below,

Rgds, Joe

Hi,
your "early" one looks different to the "later" one: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/emkqlpj8eahfnvf/AABARD-O0Hb5_ZdpRGdjfAXJa?preview=P1030312.JPG ff.

Maybe the one in reply 4, I don't have anything so thats why I'm unsure....but that makes sense as definitely one plate in behind won't fit properly.

My left side looks like your right one from the Dropbox photo....

And yes mine is early 1964

Are these what you're looking for, this was 2 years ago, so may not be available now?

Ok next question, in the attached picture of the hood brackets as they are seen are the ones on the left for the left and ones on the right for the right?

Hi,
the studs point up and the open end of the hinge points forward for the hood to pass.

;) simple questions I know but catastrophic for my hood if I mix up left and right!!!!

I didn't pull the car apart but fortunately am able to figure out most things with the help of yourself and others on this great forum
