Title: Air conditioner trim color

I am helping a new friend in Hawaii with some questions about his 250 SL California Coupe. He wants to have A/C and is curious if the factory units came with interior matching trim - the soft trim around the air vents and control panel.

I always thought the Behr or Frigiking units had only black trim.

I thought Behr only made units for models where a/c was offered as a factory option, i.e., w100, w108/109, w111.  These I’ve seen trimmed in various interior colors. 

For w113, which were never available with factory installed a/c, I thought Kuhlmeister and FrigiKing were the dealer installed units?  To the best of my knowledge, these were always trimmed in black.  I have, however, seen them re-trimmed in matching colors when owners have “refreshed” their interiors.
