Title: Finding owners
Post by: ChrisInNashville on June 09, 2005, 19:58:08
I'm trying to find names of benz owners in Southwest Indiana, Western Ky, and Southern Il to organize enthusiast activities that are not a 200 mile drive from here.    So far, Indy and Louisville mbca clubs have been unresponsive and are 'protecting' their members from other members (I guess).

Reality is that in this area, there might be 10 Pagoda owners, but probably 250 SL owners, but in an area of 300,000 people, that's a needle in a haystack.   British car owners have a great club, I want one too.

Any ideas how I can find owners in the Evansville Indiana area?

You could approach the service specialists in the area. The shops that are known for knowing these cars. They may be willing to give Pagoda owners a leaflet or business card or whatever. Also, oftentimes someone with a Pagoda will know someone else with one, who may know yet someone else etc etc. Maybe the Star or your local MBCA newsletter will let you place a call for owners.

Cees is on to something:

A friend of mine recently said, "I saw an SL just like yours at this auto restoration/repair place across town!"  I looked them up on the internet, found their general e-mail address, and sent them a note conveying my wishes for them to pass on our web site address to the Pagoda owner.  They said they would, I hope they're honest, and I hope they join.  I think this method would work.
