Title: No or Little Fuel at Injector Pump Cylinder One
Post by: mBdrvr on July 23, 2022, 23:02:52
My engine is misfiring and smoking out the tailpipe, Cylinder 1 is the issue. Swapped plugs, injectors, & wires. Good compression.

Removed cylinder 1 fuel line at the injector pump. No fuel while cranking. Small amount at idle. Cylinder 2 (and the others) get fuel. The injector pump was rebuilt.

Any ideas??

If the 19mm fitting on top of the injection pump for that injector line is not torqued tight enough, then that cylinder of the IP, may not pump fuel. On an M130 the torque is 21 ft./lbs. Be careful because over-torqueing it can damage the pump.

How long has your engine been unused?  Maybe the piston is stuck in the up position?  I had to take out the check valve and tap the piston down to loosen it.

The car sat over the winter. Prior to that there was a puff of white/blue smoke on acceleration.

Lots of fuel was released after I removed the cylinder 1 pump port fitting and spring.

I didn't have the right tools to torque it down again. I'll try it tonight.

What’s the torque for the M129 FIP?
