Somewhat similar to my interior (mine is a bit lighter tan). Is there any significant difference between 230sl and 250sl/280sl carpet cutout patterns? (besides the manual/automatic cutout difference over the transmission tunnel)

The carpet material itself is different.  The 230SL had a "square weave" that is a firm material, maybe wool?  The 250SL/280SL had a "multi loop" with a soft material, maybe nylon?

Squareweave was also original carpet on Early .043 . Along with basket weave seats, vs. pin cushion..and several others
There was  a mid year production change on 250sl's where the first half got 230 appointments and the second got 280s...
That is why 250sl are refer to as "Early/Late"..
..but I believe the cut was the same ..
