Title: Drive shaft bolts
Post by: mikeswplt on June 10, 2022, 13:42:24
Would appreciate any info on the bolts used to attach the drive shaft to the flange on the
rear end. I’ve been unable to locate the 4 bolts/nuts/washers that were removed when the 250SL I’m restoring was dismantled. The parts diagram doesn’t display them or reference any part number. A photo I saw online showed what looked like a nut retainer
as part of the connection.

Talked to MB classic and bolts are listed as cheese head screw NLA. Nut retainer is lock plate, no washers required. Need to source a used set of bolts or find a suitable substitute.

I have plenty of good used bolts. They were used many of the common sedans of the era.

Thanks for the offer Joe. I was able to get the bolts I needed off a 220S parts car at a local independent MB repair shop.
