Title: What is this and what would you do?
Post by: ChrisInNashville on May 30, 2022, 21:25:18
I’ve just gotten ramps and have gotten under my car for the first time ever

On the passenger side of the crankcase is this wire that’s damaged.  What is it and what would you do?

(Hoping the photo attached from my iPhone…)

I believe that is a connection block for wiring to the pressure switches on the automatic transmission? Connector eyelets have different sizes so they can't be incorrectly connected I believe.

There’s a terminal block like that on the manual transmission also.

Kind of looks like the starter terminal wires.

Kind of looks like the starter terminal wires.

Correct, and I would solder new connectors on it and finish it neatly with heat shrink tubing.
