Hi, is there a stencil for masking hub caps prior to painting in the UK or do we have to use masking tape?
Thanks Gordon
-
Yes there is Gordon, I had bought my stencil on ebay some years back. I think it came from Australia.- I think there are two types, one for the one piece hub-cup and one for the two piece hub-cup of the earlier pagodas.

I seem to recall the group used to have a couple of these. I may be wrong but one for US and one for non-Europe. User paid shipping. If I'm right, I do hope someone hasn't made off with them
-
I seem to recall that some time ago there was one circulating in the UK. The US item would be fine but for import duty and shipping costs
-
The Group did have three sets, one in Europe/UK, not sure who was tracking, one in USA that Mark Roter was often tracking around and one set here in Australia that i have been tracking and just passed to another member for him to do his hubcaps.
If a Member does have them in Europe/UK can they please identify and start the ball rolling again.

Thanks Gary, I thought that there was one lurking in the UK in the past
Maybe this will jog someone's memory
WHERE IS THE UK HUBCAP STENCIL???????

The last I heard of is was Scott (?) had it. The guy that had a bodyshop here in the UK and was buidling a pagoda. He was here a few months ago saying that the project had stalled....

And yes, as of last year his Pagoda was stalled.

Im not sure where these are. I don't recall if they got sent to anyone or if I have them somewhere. I did look a while back and couldn't find them so either they are out there, or I have stashed them somewhere that I have forgotten about. I will have another look but Im fairly sure I don't have them.
For what its worth they are the silicone style and the general consensus seemed to be they went very good so I may have even scrapped them. I'll have another look and let you know if I find them. Until that point assume they no longer exist.
I figured I would either get the plastic one from authentic classics when the time came or mask them by hand.

Thanks everyone for your help. I had an inkling that Scott may have seen them but I didn't get a a response to my pm to him.
Thanks again

Hi, I spoke to Scott today and we have clarification as follows. Scott personally bought the stencil kit for his own use ( which hasn't happened yet) and he intends to pass them on for club members use if he can relocate them which he's not been able to do.

I have the stencil which I purchased to do my two piece hubcaps. If someone can explain how I can make it available to others I am happy to do so

John, and others,
What we have done in Australasia and i believe its the same in USA is that the next user either picks up or pays for postage to themselves. If there is a waiting list they then contact the next user in line, to confirm and pay postage and send off. If there is no next user then they should pay for postage back to the stencil keeper/manager.

This is not accurate and not what I said to you. I bought the stencils partly for my own use, and as a gift to the group for whoever to use as a thank you for the assistance I have received. as I said to you yesterday I believe I sent them out to someone and they have not been returned, or I have misplaced them, I cant remember.
