Hi Alfred,
In the past the Classic centre would post a free data card to you, now they do charge $150 US for them.
You can order one from the Classic Centre in Germany (address is attached). Yjey need you to provide a scaned copy of the registration tad fully describes the car with your name abd the cars serial number (VIN#). Also you need to provide a photo of your car in order to get one. This then will prove ownership.
Good luck

Ask your local MB dealer for a VMI - vehicle master inquiry - it has all the details of the data card, and it's free.

As for finding out who owned to car previously, I don’t think you will fit bd that information, however contact the Dept of Motor Vehicles California, they “ might do a query to their data base, I am sure the car was registered in California, that’s where she lived. Good luck.

Sorry but the DMV in California will not provide that information.

Difficult to get info on previous owners. Is this your car?

It looks like the OP is in Austria and the car is there also. I have doubts that any outfit, official or else in the U.S. may be of help.

What are those side strakes on that photo?? Not seen that before!

Some one has customized it and made the sides look like 300SL vents. Also the wheels are spoked wheels. If FF owned it she must have had it customized.

I like that car. Maybe she was a fan of Ferris Buellers Day Off and tried to recreate the Ferrari 250 GT California Spider with a teutonic twist.
I heard that John Hughes originally intended the car that flew threw the window in the movie to be a Pagoda. I wonder if a pagoda would have handled the jump scene better than the replica they built.
