Title: Pressure in the coolant tank
Post by: bayleif on May 17, 2005, 15:23:05
Hi All:
I was checking coolant level this morning and I was surprized that when I took the cap off that it had been under pressure. I haven't driven the car in about a week so it was room temp. Is this normal?

I don't know if it is normal, but mine did exactly the same thing yesterday when I checked it under the same conditions.  The coolant level was a little low, but the tank bottom was covered.

Indicates you have good caps.  I'd call it normal.  If it was cold when you added your coolant, or when you last opened the cap, there's probably a bit of pressure just because it isn't near freezing now.
