Title: heater levers light issue...
Post by: yves on December 06, 2021, 14:50:22
Hi everyone, i have no light at  the  dash heaterlevers . The light is ok on the clock and rev counters , central cluster . So i tgnink that the issue comes from the wiring or the two led bulbs recently replaced....
I had a problem already with the led of the red charge ignition , even with the 88 ohms resistance that i fitted as per the  technical manual .
I think it's a problem with the led bulbs but i have to verify ...
the car is actualy far from home and i can't have an acces ! my question is :can i have acces to the bulbs without dismantling the heater levers....may be can i replace the bulbs after taking out the dash speaker ?
I remember the hard job i had when i refurbished all the levers and flaps....and be happy to remake that! :-\
I should have the answer to that question...may be .alzheimer knock at tha door ?
Photos below when i was removing the levers two years ago.....
May be it is "only" the first plug on the left lever disconnected by the mechanic working in the dash after me ?

After long nights I found out that the previous owner "flipped" the cigarette lighter plug with the heater lever plug.

Who knows

Yes Yves, you can access the light "turrets" through the Speaker grill.

Normal bulbs can pass through the turret top, but some LEDs require you to remove first the black turret tops.

A bit fiddly but ok really. see a picture here

But first I would check that power is getting to the turrets.

Good luck

Thank's Paul that's what i thought but wasn't sure of....
I'll do that as soon as i'll have the car at home  but i have to wait a temp above 0C° and without snow , i have a 980 km travel to drive  back the car in the garage...
About your photos  link... i have also fitted laser bulb for the headlamps and made an adaptator "ring" for the lamp.... but now it's difficult to have the right difference between high beam and low
I think i couldn't succed with those bulbs for the french "mot"

Yves
I got my LED headlamps fom Classic Car Leds,

https://www.classiccarleds.co.uk/

I got the Warm White rather than the "White-White" as it is more in keeping with the original colour light.
Fitting was ok, and the Hi/Lo difference is as before, and has passed the MOT here three times since.

Keep safe
