I have never loved the rear exhaust on the Panzerwagons, no matter what model they are all the same - There is that big muffler can that is very visible and not very sporting looking.
Plus the 2 tips extend downward at the end and are not chrome plated like the 113 and cant downward at an ungainly angle.
I have seen early 107s - 1972 and 1973 - that have a straight tail pipes that are chrome covered ala 113 and it looks great and sporty too.
I also remember seeing adds back 20 years ago for chrome tips for 107s that falsely hide the odd down angle of the tips and extend chrome " falsies", if you forgive my expression, straight out.
I searched the web to try and find, but no luck.
Any 107 gents fool with their muffler set ups ?

The SL Shop in the UK does a Sportline version of the 107. It has straight tail pipes - although maybe they are part of a whole new exhaust system. They might be able to help.

Andrew, just a note to say thanks again for your SL Shop recommendation.
I followed up and found that they had exactly what I was looking for for my 107.
They had the chrome slip on tail pipes that cover the down pointing end of the muffler pipes and show a nice pair of straight chrome tips.
I bought the pair and expect delivery from across the pond in a week or so.
The SL Shop had some interesting mods for 107s and their Sportline upgrades appear ( at least in the video) to greatly improve power and handling. That Sportline 300SL seems to suck onto the track and drive like a race car with virtually no nosedives that we have come to put up with in our dear Panzerwagons.
Best,

Zak, please post a photo of the chrome tail pipe tips when you have them installed.
Thanks

Will post a pic when installed. I think even I can handle the install on these.
...just as soon as they travel from across the pond.
