Hi group,
my lockable fuel cap was dropped by the petrol/ gasoline station attendant and it sprung into pieces. Im having difficulty re-assembling it and wonder it there's an exploded diagram of it available? Im also concerned that there should be a spring which I may have lost.
I would appreciate any advice.. these are small items but expensive to replace!

This one of the reasons you should never let anyone else fill your tank. In addition, how many people have lost these expensive gas caps because they were not put back on properly (not solely the fault of attendants). Then there is spilt fuel on the chrome bumper etc. At least if I do it I can clean it up immediately.
Anyway, I hope you are able to get it back together.

Unfortunately the picture I can view doesnt show what I need. My chrome top has separated from the body of the cap allowing the sliding pin to fall out. I dont know if any other parts fell out that I didnt see to retrieve. If I re-assemble what I have it doesnt work.
At any rate I appreciate your response😊

I always do it mys3ef but I was having difficulty getting the cap to stay on securely and the attendant offered to help.

The Technical Manual has a complete schematics of the cap and its parts and maintenance and how to rekey it.
For the sake of $30 annual membership, it may save you a bundle of money rather than replacing the whole chrome cap. In addition you then have full access to the whole Tech Manual, will also have access to Pagoda Notes and receive the by-annual Pagoda World magazine.

Yes,
There is a little (coil) spring about a centimeter long which you might have lost. Otherwise the sliding bolt cannot work properly.
The hold-down of the outer chrome cap to the inner (dicast) cap, which sits on the fuel filler neck, is a different story
and has nothing to do with the locking mechanism itself.
Definitely see the drawing in the Wiki. Makes it much easier.

amazingly I found the tiny spring!
With it everything made sense. A simple job to position it and then click the chrome swivel top into place.
All done and working perfectly.
I have pictures of the inside if anyone is interested.
