Title: Heater lever plastic cap / bulb holder
Post by: BHap on October 30, 2021, 23:36:10
I am looking for the plastic cap / bulb holder for the right top heater/defrost lever for a 1970 280SL. This piece holds the bulb and keeps the lever in place.  I Superglued the tab a few years ago but it didn't hold up.  From what I can see, this part is not available new.

Try to 3D print it.

This is what the printed caps / bodies look like after printing. I believe Authentic classic sells a whole set if needed.

I would try reattachment using a different adhesive.

Thanks for the replies everyone..  It looks like I have several options and it is incredible to me that 3D printed parts is one of them. For now I'm going to re-glue and use a longer screw and washer above the tab to hold the bulb holder to the barrel. I had to grind a little bit of the underside of the cap to accommodate the screw, but I think it is plenty sturdy.  Now on to getting the cable to move freely..
