Title: Side window jammed
Post by: MP on October 07, 2021, 15:35:14
Hello,
I have a side window  jammed at nearly  full up it will move about 1" up and down.
I would be grateful for any ideas on where it is stuck I am hoping  to fix it in without taking it apart.

I am hoping  to fix it in without taking it apart.

Probably too much play or a window guide has come loose, unfortunately the solution is to open the door and adjust/repair.

This is what you'll find inside. ( I'm about to put mine back together)

The metal jaws ( with plastic inner liners) slide  on the inclined metal rails at each side and also in the guide in the top of the slide rail adjacent to the A post.
The largest guide on the glass was missing on my driver's door and the other was loose as we're both on the passenger side.
I hope this helps.

mazmonza, when I was doing the glass replacement after mine broke, I went to the drawings of doors at MB EPC and on SLS and I bought all the plastic and rubber parts that are there and replaced them for new ones. Quite a lot of them there.

Also the clips rubber bumpers holding rods for locks.

There are rubber or fabric stripes between the glass and a rail holding it from the bottom. There are also 4 bushings going through the orifices in the glass for screws.

The jaws replacement process is very well described in the Tech Manual.
