Hello- I have a 1964 w113 and have just noticed that the oil on the dipstick has the consistency of the dreaded peanut butter. I am looking for a new (refurbished) motor for this car so I can rebuild the current motor. The car was purchased 25 years ago and appears to have a non non-numbers-matching motor (looks to have a different number on it). Located in Green Bay, WI and will obviously drive or pay for shipping of new motor.
Thanks!

Peanut butter consistency? Maybe diagnose what you have first, rebuilding these engines is expensive and it may need something relatively minor. Engine number needs to be verified against the data card I believe. If you post the number we can see whether it's actually a 230 block.

Ryan,
Good morning.
I have a spare 230SL block, but I live in Belgium.

Hello Ryan,
I have an big heritage of Mercedes Benz Engines from the 60ties, so I can offer you a lot of different 230SL engines.
Overhauled? Or in working condition? Early versions or late? With stamped numbers or clear?
But each coin has two sides, the bad news is, that I am located in Germany. So we have the ocean between us...
So my advise is, that the best, what you can do is to contact Metric Motors in Ca. I heard here in this forum a lot of warm words about their competence- so please contact them first.
If they can not help you, I think I can do!
Best wishes from Germany!

Early engines can do that. The dip stick is also a breather and moist cool air will often condensate on the stick. Make sure your engine is running hot enough to purge any water vapor out of the engine.

Hi
I am scouting the site trying to find how I actually post on it. But I am looking for an Injection pump for my 1964 Mercedes 230SL pagoda.
I cant find how to post a "pump wanted" but I have found how to reply to this post, so if you end up with a spare injection pump through swapping motors, please let me know, I would be interested in buying it from you.
Thanks
