I had my Alfa over at my friends shop giving it a lube job on his lift. He is an old school mechanic that suggested I put Murphy’s oil soap in my radiation. It’s a water soluble oil that he says help keep internal parts of the engine lubricated.
Interesting suggestion but he is someone ive trusted for years.

Some old timers have formed their beliefs many decades ago and wild horses will not make them change their mind.
Water (or coolant) never comes into contact with any moving part save for the impellor in the pump and the heater valves.
Using the correct/prescribed coolant will provide all the anti-corrosion properties that the system requires.

Yeah, John, what he said (Stick). The pH of Murphy's is a bit high, though diluted in a radiator wouldn't probably affect it that much. Don't think there is much need for it though...
