Does anyone have any measurements on the correct location for positioning the side grommet holes for the headrests? I received point deductions at a show last week because when Heritage did their “Perfect” interior for me they failed to keep the old grommets and holes from my original headrests and so now I have to re-create them.
I looked through the historic questions and answers, but couldn’t find this particular answer.
Many thanks for any measurements you might be able to provide.
Best,

If it were me I would have Heritage rectify it

To properly install the grommets you will likely need to remove the headrest covers. Then you can measure the alignment with the location for recessed bolt head that allows you to adjust tension for the headrest tilt. I only mention this because some people reading this may not know what these grommets are for since I believe they were not present on all models.
Also, these grommets are not available separately. In my case, they can be very brittle, especially the retainer ring on the back side so extra caution is needed when handling these. Buds offers a machined aluminum grommet.

Here are pics of the internal metal parts. The location of the grommets is determined by the location of the tensioner.
Did Heritage install headrests without grommets?? If so I would ask them to correct their mistakes as Gary suggested.
Also don't forget to read Achim's article in PW18 and especially his comments about headrests and Picture #9.

Just to be clear, these are the side grommets that are missing, not these ones for attaching to the seat below.

The grommets in the backrest are elongated, not round. Did Heritage get those correct?

Yes, those are correct. Possibly the originals.

I get no response from Heritage!

Maybe these photos will help. I haven't focused on headrests and was surprised that the grommets are so close to the bottom of the headrest.
