Title: Decoding Data Card Boxes #41-68
Post by: John Betsch - "SADIE" on September 04, 2021, 15:22:17
Can someone point me to an explanation of Data Card Boxes #41 through 68.  I am assuming they are some type of option codes but the Tech Manual doesn't explain (unless I missed it)

thx

Hi,
option coded 411 - 687 can be found in the Technical Manual: https://www.sl113.org/wiki/DataCard/OptionCodes.

I'm sorry I wasn't very clear. I am interested in what the codes (single digits) that are entered into the Data Card Boxes #41 through #68   e.g Box 51 has a code "6"

Hi,
a single "6" in box "51" means option code "516".

Terrific, that matches; how about box 56  with a code of "5"

Add the number in the box to the box number, which gives you the option number - i.e., as WRe described, a single "6" in box "51" means option code "516", and a single "5" in box "56" means option code "565":
565 from 01.01.1963 REAR SEATS USED ON SL MODELS

That particular area in the data card is somewhat unreliable. Especially the 50-56 fields. My car has a left side mirror, but shows no entry in field 50 (503 would have to be it) The Tech Manual shows no code for 54.

I would have thought you would have to check the legislations of the markets. If it was required to have one or both mirrors, It was most likely not an option. I do not know what were the regulations in the US and in Europe with this respect.

By the way: I would dare to think there must have been a substantial number of subsequent installations of the side mirrors if someone got the car without them and did not ask for that option while ordering.
