I’m not a big fan of black on black cars, especially Pagodas, but dang, this is a beautiful restoration!  It’s obvious Brian Peters knows these cars inside and out.  His restorations are historically correct down to the smallest details.  The engine bay and undercarriage are just gorgeous!  The fit and finish of these door panels are as good as it gets.

John,

Many of us bought that battery from Mercedes as it was available for about 4 years from about 2015-2019 (?)  I believe no longer available.    There was someone on this site that found a dealer that had one sitting on a shelf maybe a year ago?

Very interesting that my friend from the eastern townships of Quebec was at a Mercedes event near North Hatley Quebec being hosted by a local Mercedes Dealer. One of the cars present was described exactly as this particular 280SL is, Black on black, 1969 stick shift with no marker lights and just completed a complete restoration. If this is a coincidence i would be surprised.
