Hi
Trying to find this item:
Mercedes-Benz W113 Trim Strip (RHD) - 1136890871
Apparently the rhd profile if different to the LHD variant despite some over optimistic instructions saying that you are able to manipulate a LHD trim piece
Picture attached of what I’m looking for
Thanks in advance
Katie

Katie - before you go too far down this road, you may want to see this:

Thanks Gary
Remember reading this. Unfortunately mine is missing, I presume maybe during work/resto and it wasn’t replaced. The screws are there, but that’s it!!

Sitting in my RHD Pagoda at present, looks like the RHD eyebrow is longer on the RHS of the binnacle (goes down to below 6000 RPM ie more than halfway down Tacho) than the LHS (goes roughly halfway down the speedo)
Hope this helps ! I think the ebay listing is for a LHD binnacle

Funny, looking through part numbers for this strip for 230SL (113042).
I see:
A 113 689 0771 TRIM STRIP LHD
A 113 689 0871 TRIM STRIP RHD
Replaced with
A 113 689 0771 TRIM STRIP RHD
So now they are the same.
Same for 113043 and 113044.
They are for both sides now.

Hiya
Thanks
I’ve heard that but also told that. They have tried to fit but it doesn’t, they are slightly different. 🧐
But what would I know!!
I wonder if any RHD owners have tried to fit the ‘new’ ‘bi-handed’ trim and how they managed to get it to fit?

Hi Andrew
Any chance you could PM me a picture next time you’re sitting in your RHD pagoda, or add an attached 🥰

Interestingly, I never noticed this part on my car until I saw this thread. I had to go look to see if it was even there!

Must admit I didn’t know it was missing either!! Can’t even remember what sparked me looking either!!! 🤣
Old age is great isn’t it 😁

The reason they were originally different, may have been that they are not symmetrical. If you look closely at the pictures, it seems the side that is adjacent to the instrument panel top is a tad closer. For LHD and RHD that is reversed. Maybe they can be bend slightly and made fit.

Hello, if you look at the link i posted earlier, this seller looks like they have the RHD trims, as Mike says, it looks like they used to have a different profile for LHD and RHD

Having said that, maybe they are just upside down, best ask if they are RHD if you're interested

I did ask and they said didn’t know as they just bout in a batch. I think perhaps LHD as picture seemingly is from the back?
