I would like to ask some advise about the following:
I am placing a m130 280se engine in my car. The engine was previously fitted with an automatic and I am planning to fit a sedan gearbox.
Can anybody check if the flywheel in the pictures is the right one for the job?
And what plan would be best: have this flywheel balanced on its own, or have it balanced in such a way that it is near to the automatic flywheel that came off? Or can I assume that the balance of it is allready OK?
Thanks for your advise!

That flywheel is already a balanced unit.

Thanks for your reply Benz Dr!
I was a bit confused about the different information I have read about m130 engines and their way of balancing.
I found in some sources that every part is balanced on its own for m130 and in some that it is advised to copy the balance of the automatic flywheel that comes off, indicating that not every part is balanced on its own.
I will proceed assuming that every loose part is balanced separately. Thanks for confirming that the pictured flywheel is balanced on its own.

The M127 230SL crankshaft assembly has to be balanced as a complete unit. 280 and 250 crank assemblies are balanced when they're manufactured. In all cases, the connecting rods and pistons can be balanced as part of the complete crank assembly if you want to do that.
