Title: Front suspension cross member support
Post by: MarkCan on May 18, 2021, 19:41:21
I was about to drop it of for sandblasting today. Just 2 pieces left on it, so how long could it take to take them off, right? Well after moving it, pulling, pushing in all directions those rubber supports are not going anywhere. I don’t wish to cause any damage to the seat. Is there something special about the removal process here?

If you turn it over you could spray some oil or "rust off" into the threads.

I saw a guy screwing down a piece of iron bar with bolts to two of the orifices (diagonally) on the top, supported it with a log thus creating a lever to pull up the mounts.

Disclaimer: I accept no liability for any damaged caused by this procedure.

Make sure everyone is out of the way and beat on them with a sledgehammer.  You're going to replace them anyway.

In extreme cases I heat them with oxy/acetylene.
