I have both my speedometer and tachometer out of the car after recalibration and cleanup. I decided to replace the incandescent bulbs in both with amber LEDs from superbright. They fit fine in the sockets and both went into the speedo without issue. In the tachometer though I could only fit the LED in one of the two holes in the back of the instrument. The other hole has a noticeably smaller bore and the LED will not fit. At this point I don't think I have an alternative other than putting the incandescent bulb back in that hole and the LED in the one where it fits. Has anyone encountered a similar problem. Thanks

You sand/grind down the diameter of the LED to make it fit
-
Or make hole slightly bigger? I had to do this with the headlamp housing for my side light LED bulbs as hole was fractionally too small

As Gary, I ground down the bulb.
-
Or cut the narrow part of the tube off, and fit the LED from the inside of the TACHO cover
