Title: Steering Noise
Post by: mBdrvr on April 11, 2021, 21:43:52
I have a clicking noise when turning the steering wheel.

I located a bushing welded to the support for the steering box that loosened up. It needs to be welded back to tighten it up but I haven't done it yet.

I just located a Service Information Bulletin from 1967 that addresses this problem and describes the right way to fix it located here on page 1 of this section:

I'm posting these bulletins from old Mercedes dealer updates that I acquired.

Paul:  Thanks for the information.  I have a similar clicking noise.  I tried opening the link you attached without success, just got a 404 error message.  Would you mind checking the link.  Thanks
