Title: Transmission shaft and wiring

While cleaning the transmission I noticed that the input shaft can be wiggled by hand. Is this normal? Also the three wires that is on the transmission is in very bad condition. Can I order a new one or just build one?

Yes, the shaft is supposed to be a little loose.I am sure you could easily make up new wires.

Yep, I believe they are all the same, from Model T%u2019s to Porsches and Ferrari%u2019s. The idea is not to have an absolute rigid/perfect connection between the engine and transmission. Just a little play is quite common on most cars I have seen.
