Hello,
I am about to reinstall my rear axle and have a question about the rubber mount shown in the picture, that bolts into the trunk.
The mount has notches. Should these notches be parallel with the axle or perpendicular to it as shown?
I checked the BBB and tried to search here but didn't find an answer.
Thank you for your help.

The way you have it - notches fore and aft - looks correct according to the parts book.
-
Thank you Dave,
Wasn't sure but that's what I thought.
-
There is a picture in the technical manual.
-
The mount unit is not square - even though it looks square it is rectangular. Hence it will only fit the correct way. It may almost fit incorrectly but not quite.

Oz,
You are right. I didn’t see it, probably should have tried before I posted.
BTW. Just printed a couple of alignment pins for the bushings at the axle. If someone needs one, PM me.

I would love to get an alignment pin! I have the new rubber but have been intimidated due to some claiming difficulties.
Also - I do not take credit for the rear diff mount not being square — I think I had read it from the genius JA17. It made it easy for me.

You got it. We should get together soon?

Hi guys , I also replaced this rubber mount and the job was quite easy . I bought an aftermarket mount because at that time there was not any oem Available . Have you had any failure regarding this aftermarket mount ?
In addition to that , are there any mounts in the rear axle responsable of the handling ? I replaced this mount and the rubber bushing at the center of the axle .
