Title: Torqueing the king Pin
Post by: CJHenderson on March 11, 2021, 01:47:54
I torqued the king pin to 65 foot lbs. now I can't move the steering by hand is this normal? I have only the steering control box installed to facilitate putting the car back on wheels to load onto the car hauler for trip to get the final paint. Also what is the torque for the tie rod ends? Is it 25 or 44 Foot Lbs.

You will need a thinner adjustment shim, so that the steering turns easily. Make sure the slotted thrust washer and the little alignment pin at the top are assembled correctly and did not shift out of place.
