Title: 1971 280 SL - non locking gas cap

Hello All,

Would like to get one that is vented and with the MB logo on it if possible.  Anyone know where I can source one?  New or nice-used is fine.
Some of the ones I see on ebay indicate they don't fit my car.

Why do you want a vented gas cap if it's for a 113?

Two reasons:

1. I had issues with pressure building in the fuel tank last year and need to figure it out.  In the meantime I thought this would help.
2. Last year my wife drove the car and after putting in fuel the locking gas cap came off as she drove away!  Don't want to loose this as it is correctly keyed to my ignition.

Again just a temp solution.

Early 190SL's use vented fuel caps. Try one of those but you should be aware that overfilling the tank can cause fuel to come out of the vented cap.

You have a fuel tank problem with plugged vent lines or something similar.
