If you buy the pre-cut ones, like from Authentic Classics they come with self-adhesive backing. No additional adhesive is required.

As recommended to me by my Mercedes (private) mechanics in Sarasota.
I use from NAPA stores,
3M Yellow super weatherstrip and gasket adhesive.
Part # 08001
I used it my firewall pad and the insulation that goes under the hoods on my Diesels cars.

I used Weldwood Vinyl top and tonneau adhesive.  It is a high temperature contact cement.

I think authentic classics do the best reproduction of the diamond pattern...
They're also not too expensive compared to other suppliers.
