Title: Front Axle and Steering Gearbox

Hi All,

Two questions I am looking for assistance with:

1. I am trying to locate where on the Front Axle the serial number is stamped.   Based on the Data Card, it should be stamped on both the left and the right side.  I have looked everywhere, but cannot find it.

2.  Will a steering gearbox with part number 112 461 0501 from a 280SE fit in my 250SL?

Any help would be appreciated.

The steering box from a 280SE should be the same as for your pagoda. However you may need to use the original pitman arm from the pagoda steering box. Look for the I.D. # cast on the pitman arm to identify them.
