Strip tease over the last week... Engine out on Friday...
Back to white
With a turquoise interior
Although the brown was growing on me...
-
Congrats Col.
Did you have any issues or have to do anything extra in removing your engine out the bottom besides what you posted in your other thread?
-
Hey Col,
Who’s doing your paint?
I’ve got 3 weeks to have mine completely stripped and ready for it’s 5-6 months at the panel shop.
Cheers Doug.

Where did you source the turquoise interior?? Another member here had to jump through many hoops to get the carpeting.
-
I'm dropping the engine on Friday ... I'll post pictures but I think it will be pretty straight forward.
Alex D helped me get the interior ... I had to jump through all the hoops he had to.
I found a place in Fairfield that specialises in Porsches "Paint and Custom" ... I think they'll do a good job
-
Off to the painters... Would have been Friday but it bucketed down.
-
Man you move fast! This is going to be fantastic.
-
Hi Wallace... I have a deadline which is fast approaching!!
I said goodbye to her today. It's rained every other time I've tried to get her to the painters.
-
Just curious. What paint system are you using? Base/clear coat or traditional single stage enamel?
-
Single stage papyrus white...
Sent you a pm too.

Hi Col
Small world, I'm restoring my Papyrus White / Medium Blue early-250SL in Melbourne also.
Hurts me to type it out loud, but 3 years and counting...
I ended up getting my leather from KHM in Germany as i couldn't find a "medium blue" that was true to the original from all the main suppliers. Love to see yours when you get around to it.
regards
Andrew

Hi Andrew
It'll be done by July I hope!
Where are you in melbs?
-
hi Col
July is not far at all. I'll PM you.
Cheers

Finally!
She's back with makeup on...
-
The icing...
-
Very nice!
(Now onto the re-fitting of everything)
-
I have a deadline so watch the fastest rebuild ever!
-
Col , your papyrus white is stunning . I cannot wait to see that interior go in. Good stuff.
Seems like a lot of 250 SLs had the papyrus white and blue interior color scheme. My late 250 SL came that way from the factory, but some prior owner repainted it Horizon Blue.
Waiting for the finished product...

Hi Cole,
What is the interior color code? MB tex or leather, where did you get it?
Alex
-
Hi Alex... It's turquoise. If you remember you helped me about 6 years ago when I first bought the car. It's been in storage since. I got it through khm as a special order but I won't be using them again as they still haven't made good all the mistakes they made on the 250SE cp. I think I sent you a sample of the leather.

Progress report!

Just the hard top and window adjustments and a bit of chrome to go...
