Seems that the younger generation love classic cars as much as us “oldies” 😊.

My half brother is a car nut - his first words included “Audi”. He’s had a summer job working at the local Morgan dealer (which at 6’7” is not easy).
He keeps sending me snaps from his Uni town of things he’s clocked as interesting. This past week it’s been a Mk2 Golf gti and an early (2.5/2.7) Boxster with amber lights.
His first car choice was a Fiat 600 (or the Polish version thereof) but he’s ended up in a Polo. He had the gumption to ask me if he could take my Pagoda to his prom. A bastard to get him insured for a 10 mile drive... But it was a learning in that he will struggle insurance wise until he’s about 25 (6 years - but he’s at Uni for most of that) but I imagine he’ll be in the “interesting car/young timer” camp as soon as possible

Great to see that some of these youngsters are going to look after our precious Pagodas. My oldest daughter has zero interest but my younger one loves everything about old classics. She spent her holidays helping me rebuild a 1970 Honda CT70. I certainly know who gets my Pagoda when I die😀

My 21-year old has had his pick between a 2011 BMW Z4 35i with dual turbos and a 7 speed DCT, and a 1986 Nissan 300ZX with manual transmissian and about half the HP. He always drives the Nissan and says that, once he can afford it, a Porsche 911 SC from the eighties will be his. I don't know where he gets this from?

I have my doubts.
I believe the younger generation(s) look at cars merely as a tool to get from A to B. Absolutely no passion. I see many millennials turning toward EVs and buying Teslas or Hybrids.
I had a long discussion with a good friend who holds a rather high position at American Honda.
The reason was I was looking for a new car and recognized that one car I liked did not have Navigation. Upon digging deeper I saw that from eight 2020 models of that car on the lot, only one had Navi. While it wasn't a Honda, my friend confirmed, that this is a trend and the manufacturers are going away from that option because everybody is using the cell phone.
This is only one minor issue how things are changing.
The salesman at Audi tells me that the company is experimenting with a completely new concept in certain markets, where the customer buys on-line only. The car is delivered through the dealer after purchase, but the personal relationship with the salesperson is going away. Millennials are not into personal face-to-face dealings anymore.
Feel free to disagree, but we will see how this pans out in the next few years.
