Finally put my car on the ground and drove it for the first time in 14 years. Made it all the way to the gas station a block from my house and back. Windshield arrives next week.

beautiful!

Congratulations !

In the 8 years that I have been part of this group, I've had the pleasure of reading the blow-by-blow of your very detailed build!
Amazing - one of my favorite colors - 350, I think. I saw one in your color with parchment interior - I called it blueberries and cream.
Congratulations.

Congratulations.
Been watching this for so many years, good to see it coming to fruition for you.

So glad for you !!! And what a stunning car......wishing you many years of magic moments in your car. Speaking from experience, the journey is actually the most exciting part :)
-
Looking quite lovely Shvegel! Congratulations on this milestone. Wishing you some longer drives soon.
-
Well Done, indeed very detailed resto Congrats!! :) :)

Congratulations !!
It was fun following along on your journey.
I can't wait to see it in the flesh ... I'm confident I will someday.

Beautiful work there!
Glad to see that the dash assembly list helped you.
Enjoy the 'motorcycle like driving, before the windshield install.

Congratulations, it's come a long way from seeing it in boxes six years ago in your garage.

Way to go!! Well done indeed.

Congratulations on finishing up the project! Looks fantastic!

Looks great. Must feel great as well. Congrats.
(I am 1 year behind you)

The best kind of first drive: No windscreen, wind in your hair, sun in your eyes and bugs in your teeth!
-
Congratulations. As with the others I too have followed along and learned so much from your postings. I am now 10 years in on my project and hope to get to a similar place soon.

I like your wheels!!

Nice work! We look forward to a lot of photos.

Thanks all! Drove it around the neighborhood today sans windshield. Happy that all seems well. My 3.27 gears into my 3.91 housing is quiet. Very happy.

Mike,
Numbers matching housing so I swapped gears from a 3.27 housing into mine. The 3.27 housing has a cooler line built in and the vent in the wrong spot as well. I made tools for the swap and to check lash. Swapping from one housing to another is doable. Starting with fresh gears is next to impossible without the nearly non-existent factory tools.

You must be over the moon finally getting to try it out up the road, I’ve followed your build and learnt a lot from you over the years. I’m 10 years into mine and can understand what a milestone this is, best of look with the finishing off 👍

Pat:
What a project. :o
We need to stay in touch regarding the windshield. Mine is cracked and as soon as the car is running, I want to replace it. I have a source for a replacement, but need some pointers regarding who will install it.
-
Mike,
We need to get together. I have lots of little pointers on the install. I did mine myself yesterday and once you get the rubber and moldings installed it is all downhill. The actual install took all of 10 minutes with no nail biting.
-
Shvegal - it looks is beautiful, congratulations. I love that European look.
