Title: 230SL Drum Brakes
Post by: Harry on August 24, 2020, 12:55:10
It looks as though I need to replace the brake shoes on the rear of my 230SL.  It also looks as though those are hard to find, and expensive?  What is the experience on the Forum for sourcing replacement shoes?  Can these be "re-shoed", using the original steel backs?

hi,
you can either send your shoes / drums out to be re shoed / lined

i just sent mine to https://www.jgrelining.com/
i think K&K will also work with you on re shoeing the shoes

authentic classics has shoes on the web site.

best

Well - took off the right rear wheel/drum and sure enough, both of the shoes had completely separated from the frames.  Time to replace both sides.  Ouch.
