Title: Power steering pully
Post by: CJHenderson on August 14, 2020, 20:36:39
Is there anywhere I can get a replacement Power Steering pully? Bent the other one while pulling it off?

PM me if you like. I have lots of them.  Otherwise, they are the same and quite common on other MB models of the era.

I bent mine slightly to when pulling it off but was able to straighten it. Seems to work just fine, but my engine hasn’t run that much yet.

When I replaced mine a few years ago, I found that there were two different shafts on the pump. One is tapered and the other is straight. One was common and other was rarer I can't remember which one I had. Make sure you get the match for your shaft.

I had the same issue back in 2012 when my power steering pump pulley broke away from the shaft.  I found and replacement on eBay and was told back then that the 230SL and 250SL both had the straight shaft.  That is what I purchased and it was installed successfully.  No problems with my power steering since that time.
