Hi guys, I have a general question. When you remove the injection pump from the car, it’s necessary to drain the engine oil and coolant too? Or you can leave them? Thank you

In addition to what I’ve just asked, since I’m going to have my injection pump calibrated, I would like to give to my bosch dealer the right seals ( I think is cheaper to have from our sources , rather than from bosch ). I found on sls shop a seal kit for the inj pump. Do we need other seals or this is the only kit that exist? Is it sufficent? Thank you.

It is not necessary to drain the engine oil. You may wish to drain the coolant since you have the WRD coolant hoses connected to the IP.

Thanks for your answer. It seems quite complicated to remove , at least for me.

It goes without saying to make sure the engine is at 20° after TDC and not 180° off. Easy check is to see where the distributor rotor is pointing. Should be just after the #1 position. The first time I removed the injector pump, just pinched off the hoses but there was always a drip. All the subsequent times, just drained a gallon out of the radiator. I found it less messy.
