I'm trying to compile a list of all the owner's manuals that have been printed for the Pagoda. See the attached list. If any of you have one that is not here, please let me know. Also, there's a few for which I'm missing the part number or the print date.
The part number is at the lower left of the back cover. The print date is usually in the lower right corner of the page just before the back cover. Usually in the form VI 66 (for June 1966).
Thanks,
-
The manual that came with my car (1971) has the p/n that you have for 1970 , German. It also says Ausgabe B. And the printing data says ZKD VIII. 70. 3. K.

I have a USA 280 SL production april 1969:
Owners Manual: 113 584 16 96 280 SL USA - ausgabe

Thanks Mike.
Peter, I don't have yours in my list. What languages are in yours, and can you tell me the print date? (last page just before back cover at bottom right---a roman numeral and last two digits of the year)
Thanks,
Meyer

Hi Meyer,
De language is English, the info bottom right:
ZKD/PKW X. 68. 3.5 D Printed in Germany.

My original book (part number and print date) is identical to Peter’s. Factory tourist delivery February, 1969. Production January, 1969.

Meyer,
I purchased a reprint of the one on your list "250SL-280SL". Mine shows a VI.70 and your list shows 1981.
My 1970 280SL was built in June of 1969 for the USA so what part number would be my correct one? 1135841596, 1696 or 1796?
-
Hi TJ,
Thanks for that. I think there were multiple reprints of that 250SL-280SL manual. I've added yours to the list, along with some other details. I attach the updated list.
I was surprised to see there were multiple printings in 1968, all in English, including two in the same month! My guess is that any of the 3 would be fine for your car, but the 1796 would be closest since it says USA edition.

Thanks Meyer,
My manual was missing when I purchased it and I found the one I refer to so I scooped it up years ago. I guess it is better than nothing considering how difficult it is to find them now.
Great job on compiling the list. When you have it complete (after all the feedback) it would be great to see it in the technical manual.

I have 250SL 1135840896 color so not reprint in 6 languages don't I only know English and German
-
I also have a 113 584 01 96 manual supplied with my '66 230SL which was built in the August/September 1965 and delivered with the car in February 1966. It is in 5 languages.

I have 230SL 113 584 0196 supplied with my mid-February build '66 230SL in five languages. I recognize German and English, the other three are unfamiliar. Red is spelled Röd, Rodt (with a diagonal line through the "o" from bottom left to top right), and Rode in the unfamiliar languages.

For all of you that have a manual in many languages, could you tell me what it says on the front cover?
Betriebsanleitung (German)
Owner's Manual (English)
what else?
From that, I can figure out the languages. Also, if you could tell me the print year, which is on the page that is just before the back cover, at the lower left. There's a roman numeral and the last two digits of the year.
Thanks.

In the white band at the bottom of the front cover, on the left is the word "Betriebsanleitung" in bold black typeface and, stacked underneath, the words "Owner's Manual," "Instruktionsbok," "Instruktionsbog," and "Handleiding" in less bold blue typeface.
In the lower right corner of page 153 is a string that begins "KTDF 1. 65. 3. N. K Printed in Germany" in the same non-bold black typeface used for the lubricants listed on the page followed by "153" in a slightly larger blue typeface.
On the back cover the numbers "6831" appear in white, rotated 90 degrees from horizontal and rising vertically from the lower left corner of the blue field. The part number "113 584 01 96" and the words "Daimler-Benz AG Stuttgart-Untertuerkheim" in bold appear in blue typeface stacked with a generous distance between the two lines towards the left of the white band at the bottom.

Hello Meyer,
I just spoke to a gentleman that has 3 manuals: 1) X of 1968 print date 2) XII of 1968 and 3) X 1970 all in English for the 280SL. I asked him if he could let me know the part numbers on the back and I am waiting on that. Will let you know.

Followup to my previous post. I purchased part number 1135841796 and the print date was XII 1969. He did say he had a X of 1970 print date but no part number given.
